Both the tests evaluate your English skills with set framework; however, PTE is getting more popular than IELTS being a computer based test with a higher accuracy levels than the later. There is no human interference as PTE is evaluated solely by an E-rater; thus, there is no hole for goof up.
PTE is recently gaining popularity in Europe, Pacific and Asia regions. Almost 6000 organizations accept PTE. Australia recognizes PTE for both study or migration purposes.
PTE is quite a new test which is fully computerized, and no instructions are read before starting any of the task in all the modules; therefore, one need to be well-versed with the structure of the exam. A clear idea of every task of the exam will minimize the chance of getting confused in exam. It is recommended to understand the correct methodology to pass the test with high score.
For speaking section of PTE, test takers need to speak into the microphone which is saved as audio files and answers are analyzed by Patented Ordinate scoring system of PTE. Writing is done on computer and scoring is done by Intelligent Essay Assessor (IEA), an automated scoring tool of Pearson KAT engine, after evaluating the text of the essay.
PTE is evaluated from the scale of 10-90 score; whereas, IELTS is checked by band score of 0-9. Following is the comparison of score for both the exams.
